The 10‑Minute Deadlift

Some workouts look simple on paper but hit harder than expected — this is one of them. The 10‑Minute Deadlift is a compact strength‑builder that also trains endurance, making it perfect for busy days or crowded gyms where equipment is limited.

You’ll perform only deadlifts, choosing whichever variation fits your training style: traditional, Romanian, trap‑bar, or stiff‑leg. Any tool works, but a barbell is ideal because you’ll be working with heavier loads.

How to Do It

1. Prime Your Body

Start with 2–3 work‑up sets, staying below 60% of your 1‑rep max. These sets should wake up your posterior chain without fatiguing it.

2. Choose Your Working Weight

Load the bar to roughly 70% of your 1‑rep max. Example: If your max deadlift is 300 lbs, your working weight is 210 lbs.

3. Set Ten One‑Minute Timers

You’ll complete 3 reps every minute, resting for whatever time remains.

  • If your 3 reps take 10 seconds, you rest for 50 seconds.
  • If they take 20 seconds, you rest for 40 seconds.

4. Repeat for 10 Total Sets

By the end, you’ll have completed 30 heavy reps in just 10 minutes.

Why This Works

This structure blends three powerful training effects:

  • Heavy loading to build strength
  • Moderate volume to stimulate muscle
  • Short rest periods to elevate heart rate and conditioning

It’s efficient, scalable, and surprisingly challenging — a perfect hybrid session for lifters who want maximum return in minimum time.

Your Week Strong

Give the 10‑Minute Deadlift a shot. It’s quick, tough, and guaranteed to leave your posterior chain fired up.
